The human genome research programme at WABRI involves structural and functional interpretation of the available data from the Human Genome Project (HGP). The announcement for the completion of the human genome sequencing was made on April 14, 2003. Since then, there have been several new initiatives to utilize the sequence information in various areas of human genetics. The Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) consortium is seeking to identify the 300,000 SNPs throughout the genome. |
